Where Do I Go to Get My Business Listed with Google Business Profile?

To submit your business listing to Google Business Profile, you will need to have a computer or tablet with a internet browser, and navigate with the browser to https://www.google.com/business. Once the page is displayed, click on the “Manage Now” button to begin the setup process. If you do not have an established account with Google, you will have to create one first.

Step 1 – Click the “Manage Now” Button to Get Started.

Google will display a quick description of the Google Business Profile and tell you the benefits of creating a Google Business Profile listing. After reading the information on the screen, click the “Manage Now” button.

Step 2 – Verify the Business Is Not Already Listed

Enter the name of the business to determine if your business is already listed in the directory. If it is not, then click the “Add your business to Google” button to continue.

Step 3 – Enter Your Business Name and Category

Since Google could not locate a listing for your business, you will have to enter the name of your business and the category. If you have concerns about the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service, be sure to click on the links and review them. Once you have done all of that, click the “Next” button as pictured here.

Step 4 – Physical Location Information

Google then gives you the option to enter in a physical location where customers can visit such as a store front or office. This is the location that will be displayed for users when they search for your business and its associated Google Business Profile. Select “Yes” or “No,” depending on your needs, and click the “Next” button.

Step 5 – Enter the Business Address

If you selected “Yes” on the last step, you will then need to enter the street address for your business. This street address will be displayed for your potential customers and clients. When you have entered the street address and verified that it is correct, click the “Next” button to proceed to the next step.

Step 6 – Similar Businesses

Since Google now has more information about your business, it will make another attempt to see if the business already exists in the Google Business Profile directory. Google may find businesses similar to yours, list them for you, and ask you to verify that none of these are your business. You can either find your business on the list, or check the “None of these” option, and click the “Next” button to proceed to the next step.

Step 7 – Delivery Options

Google will ask you if you provide in-home or in-office deliveries of products or services. If you select the “Yes” option, you can enter additional information about your in-person delivery options, including any limits such as the geographical restrictions. Select either “Yes” or “No,” and then click the “Next” button to continue.

Step 8 – Phone and Website Information

Enter the contact phone number and the URL of the website for the business, or check the box that says “I don’t have a website.” Then, click the “Next” button to continue to the next step. You can click the “Skip” button if you plan on entering this information at later date and time.

Step 9 – Verification Method

Google will want to verify that your business exists, and will ask you to select the verification method. You will need to verify your listing in order to fully manage it with the Google Business Profile website. Choose whether you would like to receive a text, email, or choose to verify later. Your listing will not appear as a result in Google searches until Google verifies that your business is a real business.

Step 10 – Business Hours

Next Google will ask you to enter in the operating hours for your business. Click the “Next” button to proceed to the next step after entering them, or click the “Skip” button if you plan on entering the operating hours at a later time and place.

Step 11 – Google Messaging

Google has messenger software and apps that will allow your customers or clients to message you. In this step, you can choose to allow customers to message you on Google. Click on the toggle to allow or disallow messages, and then click the “Next” button. If you want to decide later, click the “Skip” button for now.

Step 12 – Business Description

Next, Google gives you the opportunity to describe the products and services that your business offers to potential customers and clients. Google will display this information when people find you using Google Maps or Google Search. Add up to 750 words describing your business and offerings, and then click the “Next” button. You can also click the “Skip” button if you want to provide this detail later.

Step 13 – Photos Of Your Business

Google loves to collect and display alluring and captivating photos of your business, products, and services, and you can add them during this step. You can also add more photos in later. Add the photos you have available now, and click the “Next” button. If you plan on adding the photos later, click the “Skip” button.

Step 14 – Free Advertising

Google will then give you the opportunity to clame $500 worth of free advertising credits. If your website and business are ready to take advantage of this advertising, click on the “Claim your credit” button. If not, click the “Skip” button for now.

Step 15 – You Are Almost Done

At this point, Google will remind you that you are almost done and that you can come back to make changes to your Google Business Profile at any time after the business has been verified. Click the “Continue” button to continue.

Step 16 – You Are Done for Now

At this point, Google will display the Google Business Profile Manager screen, where you can add more information and see the information about your listing. This is also where you will be taken anytime you come back to Google to modify the information about your Google Business Profile.
